"Over a decade ago, Shannon took the horse training position over at the feedlot here in Grand View, ID. This usually means around a dozen 2 year olds to start every spring. Having an in house trainer has really been an asset to our program. Shannon’s skills, coupled with his worth ethic, has produced fine using horses for the Simplot Livestock Company. One of the ways we measure this success is in increased productivity and safety."

"Since Shannon has been starting the horses in the Feedlot, I’ve noticed that they are a lot quieter and gentler. This makes a whole lot less horse accidents.”

"Shannon's horse training expertise is reflected in the reduced horse wrecks/injuries we have had in recent years."

"I attended a class that Shannon taught in April 2008. It was a two hour class, which is enough time to really get your horse to understand what is being asked, but not a huge chunk of time away from the family. Shannon is a very easy-going instructor, so you learn without feeling too pressured- which is the way most horses learn best, too. There were probably 20 people there and I don't remember anyone who wasn't enjoying the class, and having a good time with their horse. I will definitely attend more of these great classes, and look forward to a brighter future and more teamwork with my horses.

"As for the clinic, I couldn't have asked for more. You reinforced everything I teach, allowed the kids to have fun and gave the adults just enough of a bad time for them to relax and enjoy themselves. Thank you. I am very protective of my kids and parents, that's why we have never invited anyone to give a clinic before. I've seen many "clinicians" and been to enough clinics myself to know most of the guys/gals out there are selling a method and the equipment to make it happen. I'm not married to any method except what keeps my kids safe and the horse can understand. Everyone has expressed interest in another clinic with you. Thanks again my friend for a great weekend."

"The first time that we saw Shannon was at the 2007 Horse Expo "Round Pen Challenge", which he won.  This spring when our coming 3 yr old was ready to ride we discussed all the different trainers and we remembered Shannon and what he had done at the Round Pen Challenge.  Shannon had our gelding "Two Nic Two", and it is truly amazing at what he has done with him.  In just a short amount of time this gelding has proven himself to Shannon.  He has worked him at the SIMPLOT FEEDLOT with cattle, a branding in which he roped off of him for the first time and drug calves to the fire.  He has even done one of his clinics on him as well.  Our whole family can ride him from our 14 yr old daughter to our 10 & 8 yr old sons.  He is an absolute joy to ride and is amazing at what he does.  We can ride in both a snaffle bit and a hackamore.  He already has the basics of reining, to side passing for trail, and lead changes.  Shannon has done as excellent job with our gelding, and we have had many comments on the results of what a 3 yr old with 90 days has accomplished.  We have another filly with Shannon now and will continue taking horses to him and will always recommend him to other people.  A great big THANK YOU to  SHANNON, RENEE, AND DALTON!"
